a peaceful sanctuary

the staff IS amazing, providing welcome drinks and taking luggage directly. i received an unexpected room upgrade that surprised me. the resort HAS tropical gardens, two main pools, and a great spa. i spent a whole day at the hotel, because i enjoyed the amenities.
the resort felt a bit distant from many shops, amenities, and restaurants. the path TO the resort had multiple puddles. the breakfast selection was somewhat limited.

the grounds are kept well. food was nice. the staff was friendly and showed what hospitality should be. everyone was amazing during the nights i stayed.
the road is bad. seriously. it was the worst road i used.

the staff always greeted me with a smile and anticipated my needs, even providing a late-night snack upon my midnight arrival because the kitchen was closed. i found the balinese setting exquisite and the rooms to be very comfortable. the spa professionals were well-trained. i tried a cooking class that offered market insight into balinese life.
the average dinner i had was disappointing, though breakfast was okay. the food did not quite reach a high mark for me. a situation arose, and the resolution was not what i anticipated.
